While it is true that no one can really argue the creativeness that the program is demonstrating to people, it is also true that many people are in constant debate and figuratively brawl about the success of the program. Many critics will see that this stimulus is just a way for the administrative people to pick and choose which global industries should benefit and then they will make the poor and needy taxpayers to shoulder the entire bill. To rub it in the wrong direction and add salt to the wound, the people who are voicing their concern over the willingness of the administration to spend the money that they actually do not have rather than realizing the truth that they are spending the taxpayers’ money. Furthermore, a lot of dealers are not totally satisfied with the way this administration is processing the claims with the speed of a snail.
If you think that those are just the reasons or ground for criticism, you need to think again. Is cash for carts the answer to people who are needy? Yes, it is true that this program is really creative in every way but it does not mean that majority of the population will be getting help from this. In fact, only one group of the population and that is the “golf carts purchasers” will receive the subsidy. One hit of reality because this group of people does not consist of the entire population. It seems that the program is more of idiocy and wasteful utilization of the money that they do not have.
Government Cash for Carts Program
This is the program that is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 or what we call as the ARRA where people, especially golfers, will be assisted in buying electric golf carts. This is not to say that golfers are bad in any way because they are getting subsidy or anything but the reality is that they are the only population getting this subsidy. In your community, how many golfers are there? How many people have golf carts? This reality is the subject for ridicule.
If you are a golfer yourself, it is somewhat a very funny idea that you would be subsidized or there is a need for golfers to be the receiving end of such act when they want to buy their own cart. Do you see where this is headed?
The unintended consequences have been and always have been the problem when the administration is trying to run a large program. For all we know, the legislation who brought this program up do not really have any intentions to provide entrepreneurs a sales boost on golf carts but who knows what these smart alecks are doing right at this very moment? There is a huge golf cart industry to begin with.
Now, this has become so funny in a way that we do not really think golfers utilizing their golf carts are especially needy. We can’t blame them if golfers will just take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
Cash for Clunkers program took a strange turn with the Cash For Carts program. With the federal government’s American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), “road worthy” golf carts now qualify for the electric-car credit. A recent IRS ruling now qualifies certain electric golf carts for the same $4,200 to $5,500 incentive for other electric vehicles.
The Cash For Carts program, also dubbed ‘Golf Cart Stimulus‘ and ‘Cash for Clubbers‘, has many Americans upset with this latest development calling in yet another ‘fiasco‘ by the us government in the name of economic stimulus. Others are jumping at the chance to buy an electric golf cart and take advantage of the program before it ends at the end of this year. On the third hand (yes, we have three), many businesses are also taking advantage of the ‘Cash For Carts’ program.
The amounts of the tax rebate plan federal credit could make the purchase of a golf cart almost free. Golf cart dealers are reporting that with the Cash For Carts program, on certain models, the golf carts will ultimately be anywhere from half off to FREE. In fact, reported potential profits for buying golf cart that has been altered to qualify for the electric-car credit.
The media and blogs are chirping on every side of this latest economic stimulus program development. For the exception of the Cash For Carts buyers and sellers, the overall public consensus seems to be that of near outrage. Only time will tell if President Obama’s Cash For Carts part of the economic stimulus program will blow over quality or if it will be another national ‘joke’ when it come to our “good for the environment” and “good for the economy” stimulus.
Cash for carts: This is a subject of ongoing debate and a lot of people are discussing what this program is all about including the pros and cons. But, actually it is all about just treading between sanity and insanity as well as the apprehension of people about subsidizing golfers.
We cannot blame golfers (for all their reasons and beyond) when they take advantage of President Obama’s stimulus plan. It just so happened that they are this one group of people who will be the recipient of the federal credit. It is neither bad nor evil to use their heads for something they know would work into their advantage. I bet all of us are in such position many times of our lives. It is one rule of survival. You have to make use of what you are given especially now during this time of the recession where the global economy is struggling to get back on its feet. The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) made it possible for certain electric golf carts to qualify as energy efficient vehicles.
We cannot blame the people who are against the cash for carts program as well although many will admit that the program is creative in more ways than one. They are just people who are voicing out their opinion about something that they think is just a waste of time and money. Well, it is time to make a stand, isn’t it? Most of us never imagined the federal stimulus program being used to by elaborate electric golf carts and we certainly didn’t expect the credit to amount to $4,200 to $5,500. Cash for carts has many outraged and it’s just more ammunition for the anti-Obama crowd.
However, thinking that this is all a wasted and foolish utilization of taxpayers’ money then this is so not funny in every way. If you multiply this further into a thousand folds of idiocy in many various industries then it is not only hilarious but utterly getting into our nerves.
Sure, there are pros about this as well. As you can see, everything has two facets. One facet is the pros and the other one is the cons. But, in weighing the possibilities about the cash for carts program, will this then be the answer to the needy? Will this answer the ongoing need of the majority of people who are not even golfers to begin with?
In reality, there is no doubt that the administration has no other intention but to help. But, and this is a big BUT, it is mainly helping well-off golfers who are taking advantage of this huge opportunity to take a free lunch at golf carts. It is needless to say that it will really boost the sales of the golf cart industry. Do you think or even imagine where this will lead to next?
What will be the next “cash for” program?
What rank will you put this latest craze of incentive program between sanity and insanity? Or would you rather go for a comment like “ah so sweet, I want a golf cart for myself?”
Well, maybe you mistake this as a free lunch but our reality says there is no such thing as this. When the administration will distribute out tax credits as well as other subsidies for whatever program they devise (whether going for green and clean or otherwise), no matter what angle you look at it you always see that you are paying for the money they are utilizing.

When I read about this absurd program that was put into the stimulus bill I just had to blog about it.
